I was in Need Supply Co. the other day and absolutely fell in love with one of the employee’s boots. I’ve been on the rampant search for some new fall boots and they were beautiful. I inquired about them and she said they’re currently sold out but that they’d be getting a new shipment soon, solely for their store. She also informed me that they were by New Kid Footwear.
After a little digging, I learned New Kid was created in 2009 in Italy. It’s unique designs are done by Rachel Beagley who focuses on a variety of textures, fabrics and colors to create unique and bold looks.
Working hands on with a network of small, family-run shoe factories in Tuscany means that New Kid shoes are affordable and accessible, but still uphold artisan ideals, such as the use of traditional finishing techniques and a thoughtful, inspired design and production process. -New Kid site
New Kid’s autumn/winter 2012 collection entitled Lake Melodrama can be viewed here and the trailer for their line is featured below. It definitely includes a European eeriness but it got me anxious about the shoes. Enjoy!
